This event will feature a presentation by Holmes, founder of the premiere Black Film Festival in the country, BlackStar. Holmes serves as its Artistic Director and CEO and as a director, her works have screened internationally including her feature documentary: Scene Not Heard: Women in Philadelphia Hip-Hop (2006).
Maori Holmes is visiting at the invitation of the Racial Justice Task Force. The ILLUMINATIONS series is supported by The Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts, and produced by The Department of Film & Media Arts.
