Illuminated Manuscript Tarot Cards with Hannah Charlton

This is a two week class. Saturdays, July 11 and 18
2:00-4:30 p.m.

Make a 5"x7" miniature painting in the style of medieval illuminated manuscripts. The subject will be the Major Arcana of the Marseilles tarot deck. Subjects could include the tarot cards VIII, Justice (a woman holding a cup and a sword); X, the Wheel of Fortune (a woman turning a wheel with miniature figures); and XIII (a skeleton with a scythe).
During the first week you will learn the history of illuminated manuscripts, be introduced to the materials, and begin first tracing. During the second week, you will begin your gold, paint, and explore embellishments.
All materials are included.
