Carey Graber and Stacy Bowman began a fascination with combining glass, color, and light a few years ago. This show is a collaborative effort using the basic elements of design: Line, Shape, Form, Value, Texture, Color, and Space in a Dadaist approach that illuminates emotion with light. Carey’s technique is organic in nature, using an abstract expressionism method, while Stacy’s process is based on geometric abstraction, pattern, and fractals. Both artists work in the same studio using the same glass and materials.
Stacy Bowman has worked with porcelain clay for over 25 years using a Japanese technique called Neriage. He loves creating functional pottery, working in the garden growing organic food, fishing, and traveling to hot springs.
Carey Graber received her Visual Communications Degree from The University of Kansas in 1985 and has been a working graphic designer since her graduation. She enjoys working with clients who want to make the world a better place, cooking, growing zinnias, and visiting sculpture gardens.
