Illness Narratives

We will explore the multitude of ways we explore illness with language, identifying how to share a story without falling into melodrama; how to draw a reader into a confusing and alienating experience with support and honesty; how to access memory in the mind and body with self-love and kindness. We will examine how other writers from different genres accomplish these challenging narratives and experiment with writing exercises designed to support ongoing projects and inspire new work. Open to all genres, sharing is voluntary. Limited to 8 participants.
