Illegal Smile - The Songs of John Prine
About this Event
Illegal Smile - The Songs of John Prine
Illegal Smile is a heartfelt tribute to one of America’s most beloved songwriters, John Prine. Rooted in the spirit of folk, country, and Americana, the band celebrates the timeless music, unmistakable wit, and extraordinary storytelling of a songwriter who could find poetry in the ordinary and humor in the heartbreak of everyday life.
Featuring Greg Shaddix, Roger Brainard, and Jerbo Foti, Illegal Smile brings Prine’s remarkable catalog to life with a blend of acoustic warmth, soulful musicianship, and a deep appreciation for the songs themselves. From the wry humor of “Illegal Smile” and “Dear Abby” to the tender beauty of “Angel from Montgomery,” “Hello in There,” and “Sam Stone,” the band honors the full spectrum of Prine’s songwriting.
More than a collection of familiar songs, Illegal Smile is a celebration of the characters, stories, laughter, and humanity that made John Prine a true American original. Whether revisiting a beloved classic or rediscovering a deeper cut, audiences are invited to spend an afternoon or evening with the songs of a man who understood that sometimes the most profound truths are delivered with a wink, a smile, and an acoustic guitar.
