Ilan Amores (AR) at ALICE

In English:
The alternative Argentinian troubadour Ilan Amores brings an edge to cumbia with frayed accordion riffs, punk attitude, and poetic lyrics. In his home country, Amores is a red-hot name and has shared the stage with Manu Chao. Now he’s ready to take on Europe with a new album—and fortunately, he’s stopping by ALICE for his very first concert in Denmark.
With many years behind him as a bassist in the political punk band Argies, Ilan Amores unmistakably knows where he comes from. But don’t be fooled by his tough exterior. The Argentinian multi-instrumentalist and songwriter delivers sensitive earworms that fuse his roots in punk and rock with the danceable rhythms of cumbia. With a unique ability to connect the local with the universal—and a completely magnetic live performance—he has captivated audiences and impressed icons like Damas Gratis, Andrés Calamaro, and Manu Chao. The latter even invited him to share the stage for a series of major concerts in Spain and Italy last year.
Since Ilan Amores began shaping his own sound as a solo artist in 2017, word of the Argentinian talent has steadily spread. It was the album “Caballo Negro” (2024), however, that marked a turning point and positioned him as one of the new leading figures in Argentinian alternative cumbia. After a completely sold-out European tour last year, the Argentinian troubadour now returns with new material, performing his very first Danish concert at ALICE with a full band.
