Class Description
The Legal Heat Illinois Concealed Carry Training Renewal class is designed for anyone who has an Illinois concealed carry permit that is due to expire within the next year. This 3 hour course will satisfy all of the training requirements for you to renew your permit.

The first hour of this course will be held at OnTarget range where you will complete the range portion consisting of your live fire qualification. The live fire qualification consists of a review of handgun fundamentals, concealment techniques, and a live fire shooting exercise which includes a minimum of 30 rounds being fired in the following manner:
10 rounds from a distance of 5 yards;
10 rounds from a distance of 7 yards; and
10 rounds from a distance of 10 yards at a B-27 silhouette target approved by the Illinois State Police.
The last two hours of the course will be held at the Cabela's store and will include training on the all applicable State and Federal laws relating to the ownership, storage, carry, and transportation of a firearm. In these two hours we will discuss what laws have changed since you last attended a training and we will also review important laws you need to know. Missing the range portion means you will not qualify for the renewal.
Students will receive all necessary paperwork and certificates at the class.
Please bring the following items with you:
Concealed Carry Handgun (needed for the range section, may be rented at range )
50 rounds of Ammunition (may be purchased at Cabela's)
Eye and Ear Protection (may be rented at range or purchased at Cabela's)
A positive attitude
