About this Event
Renowned Ikebana master Akiko Iwata brings the art of Japanese floral design to life through the creation of eight original Ikebana arrangements. Each composition is thoughtfully paired with a handcrafted ceramic vessel selected by James Herring of the Ceramic League, highlighting the dialogue between form, material, and nature.
These collaborative works will be displayed throughout the Coral Gables Museum for the duration of the program and offered through a silent auction. Proceeds directly support both the Museum and the Ceramic League, offering guests the opportunity to acquire a living work of art while contributing to cultural programming.
This program forms part of , an immersive experience that explores Japanese culture through sight, sound, taste, touch, and tradition. Through ikebana, film, music, cuisine, and fashion, the initiative honors both historical craftsmanship and contemporary expression, with a special emphasis on women artists, fostering cultural understanding, preservation, and cross-cultural exchange.
