Ikea: Every year in mid-June, Swedes celebrate midsummer, the longest day of the year. We’re not the only ones, but we’ve definitely got a few traditions that are uniquely us. Dancing around the pole that’s been decorated with ivy and blossoms, flower crowns, traditional games and music, and sometimes, folk dress. And to all this, of course, lots of delicious food.
A celebration of curious tastes, awkward dances, and silly games probably isn’t for everyone. But a Swedish Midsummer is actually great fun – and there’s always something for everyone on the smorgasbord.
