IIHS Screens is back this March with the screening of ‘Madhyantara’, directed, written, and produced by Dinesh Shenoy. A National award-winning Kannada short film, and running to 39-minutes, the movie was ideated during the pandemic, and depicts a period spanning 1976 to 1985.
The film follows the lives of two young boys growing up in 1970s Karnataka, working as waiters at a small eatery in a mofussil town. Their poverty does not impede their love for movies. The story explores the duo’s journey from being pedestrian film buffs to their lucky foray into filmmaking, and their eventual journey towards becoming directors.
Post-Screening Discussion
The screening will be followed by a conversation between the Director, Dinesh Shenoy, and Sandeep Viswanath, Senior Consultant – IIHS Media Lab, followed by a Q&A session.
