Missing your Midwest burner friends? Ignition, the annual Midwest Burners season kickoff meetup is coming to Kansas City January 17, at a fresh venue in Overland Park, KS. The vibes are high, and this city is a playground…we are excited to announce the venue as the Vibe Ultra Lounge! There still will be an Escape City Art Quest challenge should you choose to participate from 4-6:30pm, TBA.

This year, Ignition is about the whole Midwest burn scene, not just one event. We’re calling out to everyone who keeps this community alive across these rolling plains. If you’re part of the Midwest burner ecosystem in any way, this kickoff is for you!
This is a fundraiser and all proceeds will be split evenly between the four Midwest Burners Association Regional events: Interfuse, T.E.I.C., HoP, and HullabalU.

========== Safety Workshops ==========
This year, we are putting a major focus on safety education. Many people want to volunteer with safety teams but aren’t sure how to learn or get experience before an event begins. Our local pool of trained folks is small, and they’re already stretched thin, so we’ve been working hard to expand what we can offer.
We now have trainings planned in Medic, Ranger, and Event Incident Safety, as well as tentative Fire Event Safety and Fire Arts Safety trainings. To help, we reached out to highly experienced F.A.S.T. members and fire safety trainers from outside the region.
Please, if you have ever been interested in helping with the event in any of these areas, take advantage of what we’re offering! Thank you for helping us level up our safety game. This is how we grow stronger together.

Make your own Trash-based costume at home to bring for the catwalk at 7:00 pm. Or, you can visit the staffed creation station to create wearable art from recycled materials (like head ornaments or accessories), to then show it off on the runway.
Participation: Are you in? Please let us know if you are bringing your own creation for the Trashion Showcase, or if you have some good clean trash you can bring for creating!
