Ignite the Holidays: LJC & vJUG Year-End Celebration

The London Java Community (LJC) and Virtual JUG (vJUG) are joining forces for a holiday-season party packed with Ignite talks, prizes, and good company hosted at Tessl’s premises in London and supported by our LJC Sponsors.

Each speaker gets five minutes, twenty slides, and the slides auto-advance every fifteen seconds. It’s equal parts insight and improvisation — the perfect mix of learning and entertainment. Talks can cover anything from Java, DevOps, and architecture to the weird and wonderful sides of technology.

We’ll be handing out prizes for categories such as:

• Best Overall Talk
• Most Festive Deck
• Best Meme Usage
• Best Audience Question
• Most Festive Attendee Outfit
• Most Java-Related Attendee Outfit
• And a few surprise categories announced on the night

There’ll also be recognition for the most creative, energetic, and entertaining Ignite speakers — and a few giveaways from our LJC Sponsors throughout the evening.

We’ll provide simple, social food and drinks to keep the energy up. Details will be confirmed closer to the event.

Can’t make it in person? We’ll be livestreaming the Ignite sessions via the vJUG so you can join from anywhere.

A small ticket fee helps cover catering and manage attendance. Capacity is limited to around 70 people, so book early to secure your place.

• 5:00 pm – Doors open and welcome drinks
• 6:00 pm – First round of Ignite talks (five talks)
• 7:00 pm – Break, food, and networking
• 7:45 pm – Second round of Ignite talks (five talks)
• 8:30 pm – Prizes, thank-yous, and wrap-up
• 9:00 pm – Optional afterparty nearby

This event is open to developers, architects, DevOps engineers, students, and anyone curious about the Java ecosystem. Whether you’re a regular at LJC meetups or just looking to meet the community for the first time, this is the perfect mix of learning, laughter, and networking in a relaxed festive setting.
