Open Source Arts are excited to announce this live performance by two great local bands who, between them, fuse global influences.
Igneous Fig, a folksome five-piece spinning haunting theatrical tales in epic sonic form, will be headlining the evening. Based around the compositions of Jolly Longfellow, their music fuses dark poetic satire with a twisted and cinematic musicality. https://igneousfig.bandcamp.com/
Support comes from Kinaara: With bluesy electric guitar by John Hogg, Indian vocals by Satnam Galsian and jazz drumming by Simon Henry, Kinaara are a trio emerging from the cross genre scene in Leeds. Their sound begins with songs of the Punjab and British Isles folk infused with Indian classical music motifs and melodies filtered through a jazzy indie folk rock mixer. You will hear Punjabi language songs, some Celtic ballads and originals combining all these elements. http://www.kinaara.co.uk/
