This course provides Texas real estate professionals with a practical understanding of Texas groundwater and surface water law, the relationship between water rights and property ownership, and the impact of water rights on residential, farm and ranch, and commercial transactions. Participants will examine common title issues involving water rights, review the new TREC water disclosure requirements, including Paragraph 7 of the TREC contracts and the Water Notice (TREC No. 61-0), and learn best practices for identifying potential issues, assisting clients with disclosures, and recognizing when legal or title expertise is needed.
