Join Goodwood Museum and Dr. Susan Drake for a Lunch & Learn in the Goodwood Carriage House, where Dr. Drake will discuss the birds, bees, and other Floridian pollinators!
Ever wondered how to best transform your backyard into a haven for native pollinators? In this one-hour program, Dr. Drake will discuss best practices and tips for turning your lawn into a pollinator hub.
Dr. Drake is a member of Buttercup and Iris Circles of the Tallahassee Garden Club, as well as a member of the Florida Native Plant Society and Apalachee Beekeepers Association.
She and her husband, Charles Futch, discovered their true calling when they moved in 1998 to a home on 3.75 acres and began turning the backyard horse pasture back into a Floridian paradise.
Their current plant list is over 300 species, most of which are native. Dr. Drake and her husband have been beekeepers for 16 years.
Dr. Drake holds a B. S. and M. S. in Biology from Florida State University, worked at Florida A&M in Salt Marsh Ecology and obtained an M. D. from the University of South Florida.
She held an active practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology until 2013 and is currently a Medical Consultant to the State of Florida.
Goodwood is lucky to have her join us for this insightful Lunch & Learn program, and we hope you will join us!
