Synopsis: After the sudden death of their sister, Julio returns to their family home in the South Texas borderlands for the funeral. Once there, Julio must navigate grief while confronting an estranged family that disapproves of their involvement in the drag community. Encouraged by their late sister's spirit, Julio summons strength by stepping into their drag persona, Sharona, for the remainder of the visit. As Sharona, she builds unexpected connections, heals old wounds, and finds a way to let go of past pain while accepting her sister’s passing.

About the Director: Marisela Barrera (BFA, MA, MFA) is an award-winning Tejana teatrista—writer, actor, stage director, cultural activist, and border goth storyteller whose genre-bending work bridges the Tex-Mex frontera, the classroom, and radical Chicana/Latina arts spaces.
