IESANZ Monthly Talk Series - November
About this Event
Perception of Light
How light, surfaces, and visual sensitivity shape what observers perceive in the world around them.
Presented by WA IES Member Neil Midolo, this session considers how different inhabitants, including humans and other creatures, may perceive the same world in different ways.
Visual perception depends on the relationship between the light source, the reflective surfaces in the environment, and the observer’s sensitivity to light. Because perception is strongly wavelength dependent, understanding the eye and spectral distributions helps explain both what we see and what remains unseen.
