Title: Lessons in Creativity, Possibility, and Community
Session Description:
This course teaches embodied learning pedagogy. The educator will learn about tools and facilitating student development in creative decision-making across the curriculum for arts integration. The educator will use choreographic tools to enhance the portrayal of imagination through embodied learning. The educator will analyze and respond to artistic dance work based on the concept of imagination, elaboration, and creative problem solving through independent and collaborative learning to induce higher-order thinking.
Attendees are welcome to come and take the course for credit or non-credit.
Course Requirements for Receiving 1 Professional Development Credit through NNU:
• Attendance and participation in 3 hours of Teacher Pre-Conference “Lessons in Creativity, Possibility, and Community“ Workshop at Idaho Fine Arts Academy, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., October 1, 2021
• Attendance and participation in 12 hours of the Idaho Dance Education Organization “Lessons in Creativity, Possibility, and Community“ conference at Boise State University, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., October 2, 2021. This conference involves two keynote sessions, three breakout sessions, working lunch, a professional dance concert, and a critical response session.
• One Week Teachers Log of Creative Movement Curriculum Integration
• One Unit Plan Outline and one Lesson Plan from the Unit completed using the tools and concepts taught in the course. Assignments are due by 11:59 p.m. on October 10, 2021.
