Ideas to Infrastructure: Youth as agents in Harnessing AI for Development

The 80th Session of the UN General Assembly presents a timely and strategic opportunity to convene key actors, youth innovators, policymakers, development partners, and the private sector to highlight African youth-led AI solutions and elevate discussions on the critical infrastructure and investment needed to scale their impact. Hosted by the Commonwealth Youth Council in partnership with Floodgates International, the Voice of Africa Network and Berkeley College this side event aims to position youth not only as beneficiaries of digital transformation but as leaders shaping its direction and equity. 

This event will also set the tone for the launch of the “Global Development Research AI Platform”, a joint initiative by Floodgates LTD and the Commonwealth Youth Council to enhance AI research for Youth actors in global development.
