What is an IdeaFame Live Contest?
The IdeaFame Live Contest, brought to you by Startup Junkie, is an event created to promote startups and new ideas, and to increase "creative collisions" in emerging entrepreneurial ecosystems. Come pitch your idea for a new business, product, service, or solution for a chance to win!
Attendees: Open to anyone – bring your teachers, friends, family – anyone! Just have them sign up here. Everyone planning to attend must register. (Attendees vote for the $1000 People’s Choice Prize).
Contestants: This competition is open to those currently enrolled in high school who want to share their idea for a chance to win $1,000! You have 60 seconds to pitch your idea, no more. No slides. No notes. Only one contestant can speak per pitch.
PRIZES!
There will be two winners. The audience will select the People’s Choice. The Judges will select the Judges’ Choice. Each winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize on the spot... And a giant check. Yes, that’s right. We’re giving away a total of $2,000 with no strings attached.
The competition will be at Ignite's building on Walton Boulevard in Bentonville. Light snacks and refreshments will be available.
About Ignite Professional Studies
The Bentonville Schools Ignite Professional Studies program provides students with real, relevant learning experiences in collaboration with regional businesses, non-profits, and industry professionals. Ignite is focused on paving the education-to-employment path through profession-based learning, developing an entrepreneurial mindset, professional skills development, and self-discovery and exploration for students.
About Startup Junkie
Startup Junkie supports, inspires, and educates entrepreneurs and innovators by providing no-cost, one-on-one consulting; events, workshops and programs; and access to capital and talent. We remove barriers for historically underserved populations by democratizing access to entrepreneurial resources and providing strategic support to any individuals seeking to establish or grow their business. Though only about 25 percent of small businesses in Arkansas are owned by women and 14.7 percent are owned by minorities, almost half of the nearly 1000 clients we support each year are women, minority, or veterans, and that number continues to grow. If you have a for-profit business or even just an idea, we exist to equip and support you at every stage of your journey.
