Enjoy a beautiful show with the mission of fostering solidarity with the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Earlier this month, ICE kidnapped 3 members of the tribe and held them hostage, withholding information unless the tribe signs onto an “immigration agreement” with loose details that would essentially grant ICE access to the Pine Ridge Reservation and undercut their sovereignty. Tribal territories face some of the worst economic conditions in the country due to continuing colonial violence that tries to force reliance on the state and parasitic levers of capitalism. This further empowers extraction and enacts genocide on a daily basis.
This is why building a bridge between our city and First Nations is so important.
We ask that you come with donations to contribute to potential legal costs associated with the ICE kidnapping and to bring any number of items in urgent need on the reservation. You can find the reservation’s list of specific items through the top link on the second slide. Funds and resources will be directly transferred to the Pine River Reservation.
