Target Audience:

The target audience for this course includes senior personnel who are expected to perform in a management capacity at an incident or event. This includes individuals who may serve as Incident Commander or as members of the Command or General Staff, Area Command, or multiagency coordination entity/Emergency Operations Center (EOC) management.

Disciplines:

Public Health, Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Management Agency, Fire Service, Law Enforcement, Public Works, and Government Administrative.

Course Description:

This course provides training for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System (ICS). This course expands upon information covered in the IS/ICS 100 and IS/ICS 200 courses.

Course Objective:

Describe how the National Incident Management System Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents.

Describe the Incident/Event Management process for supervisors and expanding incidents as prescribed by the ICS.

Implement the Incident Management process on a simulated Type 3 incident.

Develop an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident.

Prerequisites:

All prerequisites are online through FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute. A FEMA Student Identification (FEMA SID) number is required and can be set up here: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid

Bring copies of your completed certificates to class.
