About this Event

The International Childbirth Initiative (icichildbirth.org) invites you to join us for a day of learning, discussion, and connection with our ICI partners and celebration of successes. For all those attending ICM 2026 in Lisbon, we invite you to join us at Hospital Santa Maria (30 minutes from the conference) for a full day of lectures and workshops. Among the featured sessions: We will be joined by the Center for Reproductive Rights, whose legal team explores the rights of midwives and women during pregnancy and birth. We will also showcase new modular birth couches that convert to create support for vertical birth, then expand to allow for family bonding post-partum. And try a virtual reality simulation tool that allows midwives to experience positive and negative birth experiences! We hope you will join us for an opportunity to learn and explore what it means to implement respectful maternity care around the world.
