ICAN Summit

The inaugural 2024 ICAN Summit will bring together K-12 and higher education instructors and administrators, healthcare professionals and advocates, health science students, and policymakers, to create a powerful environment where diverse voices explore innovative and equitable solutions designed to better our community health while also alleviating healthcare workforce shortages.

The ICAN Summit will begin with a keynote presentation from social media influencer and Medical Mythbuster, Joel Bervell, who will challenge us to consider the norms in healthcare and how representation in scholarship and workforce will address systemic racism in medicine.

Following Joel's inspiring message, we will participate in an community discussion designed to bring diverse stakeholders to the table in a facilitated conversation that relate to themes of equity and representation in healthcare in the Capital District. All voices matter, and we look forward to bringing together a community who cares about the health outcomes of all its members.

The conference is at no cost to participants and open to the public, but registration is required.
