The International Comic Arts Forum (ICAF) will be held April 10-12, 2025 at San Diego State University in California. Founded in 1995, ICAF brings together an intimate group of comics scholars, teachers, journalists, and creative professionals from around the world for lively presentations and informal roundtable discussions about comics.
The registration fee is only required for scholars who are giving academic paper presentations. Along with supporting the programming for the conference, this fee includes a special lunch, evening reception, and conference swag.
- $135 for full-time/tenure-track faculty;
- $50 for student presenters, contingent faculty and independent scholars;
- General admission for attendees (non-presenters) is free.
Please see the ICAF 2025 Conference Information page for details about travel and lodging in San Diego.
Our ICAF 2025 theme "Comics Intersections" aims to highlight narrative intersectionality, formal intersections, industry and transmedia crossovers, comics and/as social justice, and intersections of identity and power in comics. This year’s guest artists include: Mary Fleener, Jose Trinidad "Trino" Camacho, and Breena Nuñez, with an academic keynote by Jorge Santos, Jr., Associate Professor English at the College of the Holy Cross.
