[High Country Hustle]
An electric bluegrass alliance born in 2017 in the shadows of the San Juans, Durango’s own High Country Hustle brings big smiles and foot-stomping good times to venues across the Rocky Mountains and beyond. Playing creative originals and diverse covers in a new grass style, HCH blends their unique musical personalities with dynamic, melody-driven bluegrass to create a memorable and authentic concert experience. The band is composed of four musicians of diverse musical backgrounds who formed friendships over bluegrass, beers, and the beauty of Southwest Colorado.

[Tone Dog]
Tone Dog was created out of a shared passion for playing and improvising together for live audiences. The group was born in small-town, out-of-the-way Colorado on a sheep farm, where Alex Graf (Guitar, Vocals), Tony Holmquist (Mandolin, Vocals) and Silas Hamilton (Bass, Fiddle, Vocals) first started playing for small groups of family and friends. After the 2020 disruptions to life, all three members realized life is too short, and it’s best spent doing what they loved the most, playing bluegrass together, live. With diverse sets of musical backgrounds, ranging from jazz, grunge, traditional Irish, dance, old time, and The Dead, the trio combines varying sounds into a unique iteration of driving, purpose-filled bluegrass music. Tone Dog pulls from the deep wellspring of traditional music and reimagines it in a nuanced and exciting way. Fast picking, vocal harmonies, exciting arrangements and vibrant live energy bring them to the forefront of emerging bluegrass music in Colorado.

[Strutz]
Sturtz’s music stands out for its distinctive, soothing instrumental and vocal harmonies. The acoustic quartet – Andrew Sturtz [vocals, guitar], Jim Herlihy [banjo], Courtlyn Carpenter [cello], and Will Kuepper [bass] – falls somewhere at the intersection of folk and soul, with lead singer Andrew Sturtz’s melodic vocals soaring over the lower string instrumentals. Sturtz is based in Boulder, CO, making appearances at venues like Levitt Pavilion in Denver, CO, the Belly Up in Aspen, CO, and the Mishawaka Amphitheater in Bellvue, CO. The band was featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered in 2020 and released their first full-length album in August 2021.
