IAA Workshop: Minimalism, Micro-Expression, and Eye Work
About this Event
IAA Workshop: Minimalism, Micro-Expression, and Eye Work!
From Self-Awareness to Storytelling
The camera records everything. Not just your performance—but your habits. The extra head nod. The unnecessary blink. Tension in your face. A reaction that arrives before the thought behind it.
Most of us don't know we're doing these things until we see ourselves on camera.
That's where the work begins.
This workshop starts by building awareness through close-up exercises and playback. As you learn to recognize unconscious movement, you'll begin replacing habit with choice.
From there, we'll explore how thought, eye focus, stillness, and subtle expression shape what the audience understands about a character.
We'll Explore:
- Identifying unconscious movement.
- Breaking habitual on-camera behaviors.
- Seeing the difference between reacting and anticipating.
- Using eye focus to support thought.
- Letting stillness carry intention.
- Working truthfully in close-up.
- Trusting the camera to capture what you're experiencing.
You don't have to explain the moment.
You just have to live it.
