Join Nadine Licence for a talk exploring how marriage has been regulated and recorded over the years in England.
About this Event

Join library assistant Nadine Licence in the library or online as she takes a look at how marriage has been regulated and recorded over the years in England, from Thomas Cromwell’s reforms in the 1530s, through centuries of church record keeping, and to Civil Registration. She’ll also be showing some of the interesting things you can find in the documents, where a simple marriage record can tell a story far bigger than just two names and a date.
