About this Event

Historically Black women have never known a life without work in the United States. We organized ourselves to resist the political and economical barriers in the workforce. A workforce that was built to exclude Black women who were never supposed to have “a seat at the table.”

If working class women in Texas develop class consciousness, what does that mean for our corporate overlords?

We invite you to our workshop if you’re unemployed, fantasize about quitting your job, want to vent about your job or just wanna hate on capitalism. Texas Girl Writes is committed to increasing access to Afro-American literature. The first 15 people to sign up will receive a free copy of “" edited by Gaye Theresa Johnson & Alex Lubin.

What to Expect

• A chance for journaling and reflection around work, labor, and capitalism
