I MATTER 2025: Strong Voices, Strong Girls

Girls talk about relationships as one of the big issues in their lives as early as fifth grade. While grown-ups might see these early connections as trivial, for girls, the feelings involved are genuine and strong.

To help girls develop supportive relationships, Ruling Our eXperiences (ROX), The Center for Family Safety and Healing and Nationwide Children’s Hospital have teamed-up to provide you and your girls the resources, education, and support to navigate teen dating and relationships.

Now in its 13th year as a staple event in Central Ohio, I Matter is a free, annual community conference that gives girls in grades 6-12 the skills they need to engage in healthy relationships and provides their mothers and mother figures with the tools and strategies necessary to support them.

This event is for all cis and trans girls and women, as well as non-binary folks who are comfortable in a space that centers the experiences of girls.

This event was established by Love without Hurt, a nonprofit organization lead by Lisa Carroll, Laura Ryzenman, Lisa Spector, Karen Zimmerman, and Shelly Igdaloff, with the mission of ending teen dating violence. While the team members of Love without Hurt have moved on to other ventures, their vision lives on in the heart and spirit of this event. We are grateful for their leadership on this issue and commitment to seeing a better world for girls.
