Experience a showcase of original media pieces that reflect how a group of youth artists see themselves in the world.KQED Education’s Youth Media Challenges invite middle and high schoolers to make their voices heard by engaging with hot-topic issues in our society. Past Challenges have generated original podcasts, dances, political cartoons, engineering projects, and election coverage.
November’s event will center around the origin stories of young media makers, playing off of the premise of NPR’s "How I Built This with Guy Raz" podcast, which weaves a narrative journey about innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists—and the movements they built. Students will facilitate a conversation with expert media makers to talk about finding your voice, including what inspires creation and how they produced their piece.
