About this Event
The study of hyperchromatic, or microtonal, music offers a new plane of tonal possibility to musicians trained in 12-note chromatic music. Because the study of hyperchromatic music is so vast and demanding, this festival has been devised to offer practical guidance for musicians to chart their own path through this seemingly infinite spectrum of tones. The event is free and both students and members of the public are welcome to attend. Be sure to book tickets in advance. The full program will be announced soon!
We are hosting the second annual Hyperchromatic Festival in collaboration with Goldsmiths University and the Royal Music Aassociation`. In 2025 the festival included microtonal works written for keyboard, Lumatone, trumpet, flute, recorder, accordion, banjo, oud, violin, and voice.
On Friday, April 10th, there will be three lectures between 11:00 and 14:00 and an evening listening session from 19:00-21:00. On Saturday, April 11th, there will be another series of lectures from 11:00-14:00 with a live concert from 19:00-21:00.
