About this Event

Our January 27th Lineup:

Johnathan Appel is a comedian and writer based in New York City. He knows that’s very generic. He is currently a writer for Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, where he’s won Emmy’s, WGA awards, and a Peabody. His writing has been featured in The New Yorker, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, among others. And he runs Some Fun Lines, an open mic for satire and humor writing. Johnathan Appel is often confused with the "Jonathan Apple" which is a fruit based in Woodstock, NY.

Patty Terhune has been a Features Contributor for The Onion since 2019 and has had pieces in The New York Times Loose Ends, The New Yorker Daily Shouts, and McSweeney’s. In 2020, they were one of the Managing Editors for The Belladonna.

Nina Sharma’s work has appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s Bazaar, Electric Literature, Women’s Studies Quarterly, Longreads, and The Margins, among other publications. Her debut collection of personal essays is THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL: LOVE IN BLACK AND BROWN (Penguin Press 2024).

JiJi Lee is a comedy writer and performer. Her humor writing has been published in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. Her writing has been included in The New Yorker’s yearly roundup of the most popular humor pieces and published in the McSweeney’s humor anthology Keep Scrolling Till You Feel Something.
