There was the Hot Jam brand, but that event has come and gone. It has been years since Connecticut has experienced a true summer hip hop experience. After gaining a serious notoriety in the market @MultifamilyJames is reviving a groundbreaking event series that he created back in 2013. HypeFest was created to spotlight breaking talent in the 203 and 860 music markets. After a nine year hiatus, HypeFest has been rebuilt to take over the music market. HypeFest is now a full blown music festival which will showcase local vendors, DJs, and some of top talent in the region.

Black Soprano Family’s signee Fuego Base has been selected to be the show’s headlining performer / closer. Fuego Base had recently signed a recording contract with Benny the Butcher’s imprint in April this year. The artist has gained a considerable buzz in the music market. Fuego Base will be supported by a solid roster of artists who will go through a rigorous selection process. The local media will assist Cooke Street staff in selecting the artists who are best fit to perform on stage.

There will be DJ battles, Live Cyphers, and Dance Offs

Hot 97’s DJ Drewski and Kool DJ Red Alert will serve as the main DJs. DJs will be backed by Hot 93.7’s DJ Craig G. Radio Personality G Money da Prince and @MultifamilyJames will serve as hosts for HypeFest. Expect nothing but a stellar event. The promo run will commence in the next few weeks and will target all the major music markets of Connecticut.
