Is the cold and dark of winter getting you down? Try “hygge” (hoo’-gah), a Danish word that roughly translates into a lifestyle of comfort and coziness. Amongst hygge methods such as spending more time with loved ones, cozying up to a good book, and making warm foods like soup and tea, spending time in nature can help ward off the winter blues. Join Certified Interpretive Guide and Programs Coordinator Mari Patis as you learn about the history of hygge and how to incorporate it into your life!We are also featuring our own “Hygge with Heinze” checklist so you can keep up your hygge lifestyle through the winter and all year round!
-Trail: This hike will be about 1 mile long, with varying terrain. There may be short sections of either stairs or steep (up to 40-degree) inclines, with most of the trail being relatively flat. Some sections of the trail are narrower than 3 feet wide.
-Weather Policy: This event will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we will cancel the program for the safety of visitors.
-Restrooms: Outdoor restrooms will be CLOSED for the season (reopening in the spring).
