About this Event

Join the UDC College of Agriculture, Sustainability, and Environmental Sciences for an exciting, hands-on Urban Agriculture Camp! Our free one-week summer camp introduces students to the basics of urban food production—perfect for city living! Participants will learn how to grow microgreens and sprouts in small spaces, even without a backyard, using techniques like hydroponics. Throughout the camp, students will follow the full growing process from seed to harvest while discovering how small-scale food production can support household and community food security. Along the way, they’ll explore the nutritional benefits of fresh produce and gain insight into entrepreneurial opportunities in the growing field of urban agriculture with an opportunity to run a farmers market stand. Campers will also be introduced to UDC’s cutting-edge urban agriculture community based workshops and academic programs, opening doors to exciting college majors and career paths in agriculture, food systems, and sustainability.
