About this Event
We will deliver this event as a Hybrid session giving you the opportunity to join us from near and far as this conference is one not to be missed .
Safety and quality, or rather the failure of safety and quality, is arguably the most important issue facing the construction industry today. Several years on from the tragic events at Grenfell Tower, there have been many considerable developments in building safety legislation at both the UK and Scottish government levels.
We have put together this conference to discuss building and fire safety developments across the sector. Beginning with a keynote presentation from CIOB Past President Paul Nash on building safety legislation, the event will cover building safety developments from several perspectives. A series of expert speakers will discuss policy development on cladding remediation in Scotland, new modern methods of fire safety, early detection of defects, technology solutions and construction law. A break with Lunch then followed by a Q&A session with our panel of experts.
Paul Nash, CIOB Past President– Paul is Chair of the CIOB’s Quality Implementation Group and in in 2017 he chaired the working group on procurement as part of the Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety led by Dame Judith Hackitt.
