About this Event
Synopsis
Over many years, our EVA London Conference and the Computer Arts Society have collaborated with many digital arts communities or organisations supporting early career artists and academics.
For this event, we decided to invite many of these organisations to join us for an evening event, with an opportunity to briefly explain who they are and what they do, and how you can get involved in their community, if of particular interest to you.
Following these brief presentations, you will have a great opportunity to meet the speakers, ask questions, exchange ideas, and find out about what you could do for their community, and what they could do for you, over an informal drinks and networking session.
We will begin the evening with an introduction to EVA London, and also to our Research Workshops which encourage early career digital artists and creative researchers to produce a published academic paper and present at a prestigious conference streaming worldwide.
Next there will be a short presentation about the Computer Arts Society who offer free membership with exciting events throughout the year, both in person at BCS and online.
Community Organisations participating this year include Art in Flux, who can reflect on a remarkable series of collaborations including Event 2 at RCA, Ugly Duck, Serpentine Gallery, and National Gallery X. Peckham Digital is a thriving South London Community and its Youth Advisory Board will give a presentation about its role in that local community. SheSays can claim to be the most authentic of all women’s and non-binary people’s organisations, working towards a permeant change in gender leadership.
They have a presence in 55 cities worldwide, and one of their London team, will describe how they are able to support you. For those away from London and the South East, we have a presentation by the thriving New Media Art Club, Leicester, which also collaborates with CAS activities.
We have one or two more important communities ‘in the pipeline’, but hopefully this will encourage everyone to join us for an evening of discovery and networking.
Registration is free but must be booked in advance via this form.
