START POINT: In LOBBY of Courtyard by Marriott, DeLandJoin the Happy Wanderers for these AVA-sanctioned 6 KM (3.7 miles) or 11 KM (6.8 miles) group walks in stately DeLand, the County Seat of Volusia and home of Stetson University. See all the sites (including the regionally famous murals, and many historic Florida homes).
Walk with the group or at your own pace, please pick up the Map/Direction at registration in the start box. Registration starts 30 min. prior and the cost is $3.00 for participants 12yrs old or older. Children to be accompanied by an adult. Bring your books to stamp, AVA credit for this event.
Carry your own water.
The walk is rated 1A and is mostly on sidewalks - suitable for wheelchairs / strollers. Pets are allowed but must be leashed and picked up after.
Driving Directions: COURTYARD BY MARRIOT DELAND HISTORIC DOWNTOWN – 308 NORTH WOODLAND BLVD., DELAND
Interstate 4 to Exit 118 at Hwy. 44. Continue on 44 to North Alabama Ave. Right onto North Alabama Ave. to West Wisconsin Ave. Left onto West Wisconsin Ave. to North Woodland Blvd. (US 17-92). Right onto North Woodland Blvd. arrive at PNC Bank, 312 North Woodland Blvd. on the left. Parking at PNC Bank 312 North Woodland Blvd. (US 17-92). Registration in the lobby of the Courtyard by Marriott at 308 North Woodland Blvd.
