Join Steamrail Victoria for lunch in the Diamond Valley, as Y112 heads on a short return journey to Hurstbridge.
The Steamrail Board invites members and friends to travel behind Y112 from Newport or Flinders Street, into Melbourne's leafy northeastern suburbs.

Picking up at Newport Station at 12:01pm we will run push pull (second loco TBA) funnel first towards the city and pick up at Flinders Street Station at 12:28pm.
From Flinders Street we head through Melbourne's inner north and along the beautiful Hurstbridge Line. Here the engine will climb the 1-in-40 grades and snake its way around the numerous curves as it heads towards outer suburbia. As we pass Montmorency, the line reduces to single track and the countryside opens up with kangaroos watching on from the open paddocks lineside, giving the impression of a suburban branch line.
Stopping to set down passengers at Eltham (1:17pm), Diamond Creek (1:25pm) and Hurstbridge (1:39pm), there will be plenty of time for lunch while the engine is being serviced by our volunteers.
It is advised to book ahead for lunch as there may be limited availability at local venues.
Departing Hurstbridge at 4:08pm, the train will stop again to pick up at Diamond Creek (4:19pm) and Eltham (4:32pm), before returning tender first to Flinders Street (5:15pm) and Newport Station (5:54pm).
You may board or disembark the train at any stop using your ticket, but the train will not wait for you.
Only Steamrail Volunteers may board or disembark the train at Newport Workshops - times for this stop will be provided to volunteers.

Relax in our W or E type carriages with the windows open. Seating is unreserved throughout the train.
Please ensure you are at the Station 15 minutes before departure and check screens or with staff for the correct platform.
Seating is unreserved, BYO Food and Drink as there will be no kiosk onboard the train.
Plenty of free all day car parking is available at Newport Station in the commuter car parks at 21 Market Street.
