Celebrating Community Resilience and Togetherness One Year Later after Hurricane Helene
Join us for a free community lunch as we gather to reflect on the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene on Sunday, September 28 beginning at 11:30am in the courtyard and gym.
One year ago, FUMC became a hub of action—opening its doors as an emergency shelter on the night of the disaster, then serving as a donation center and coordinating job sites in the weeks that followed. Today, through Rebuild Haywood, we continue to support long-term recovery efforts. This event is a time to share stories, reconnect with neighbors, and celebrate the resilience that carried us through. Whether you were helped, helped others, or simply want to stand in solidarity—all are welcome!
