An Evening with the Yawanawá & Huni Kuĩ TraditionsSacred Songs, Storytelling & Amazonian Wisdom
Dear Friends,
We are deeply honored to invite you to a unique and intimate evening of storytelling, sacred chants, and music with indigenous guests from the Amazon rainforest, here in Helsinki, Finland.
Together, we will gather in presence and prayer to receive the living traditions of the Yawanawá and Huni Kuĩ peoples of Brazil, shared through ancestral songs, stories, and melodies carrying healing, remembrance, and connection.
🌿 Our Guests
Wãnu Yawanawá
Born and raised in the Yawanawá territory of Mutum village, Wãnu has dedicated herself to the spiritual studies of her tradition from a very young age. She has studied with the shaman Tatá and continues learning with her aunt, Hushahu Yawanawá.
Gifted musically, Wãnu was among the first young women in her village to bring traditional songs to the guitar, creating beautiful new melodies rooted in ancestral wisdom.
Dua Ninawa Huni Kuĩ
Dua Ninawa is a young leader from Xikukurumim village in the Indigenous territory of the Jordão River. Son of the shaman Tume and teacher Ibã Sales, he continues a lineage devoted to the preservation of culture through sacred song and artistic expression.
Deeply immersed in the spiritual practices and musical traditions of the Huni Kuĩ people, Dua composes original melodies and works with innovative instruments inspired by his heritage.
✨ This evening is a cultural and spiritual gathering open to all ages.
There will also be an opportunity for those who wish to receive Hapé in a respectful ceremonial setting.
