Meet the Huni Kuin in Brighton for an intimate evening of music, a traditional Huni Kuin hapé circle, and an optional jewellery workshop.
About this Event

Join our Huni Kuin friends for a rare evening of music, prayer and creation. Chief of the Chico Curumim village Tamani brings her sister Yaka and son Shane, leading a hapé circle and concert, plus a jewellery making workshop.


- Jewellery Workshop.
Create your own traditional ring, in a small, intimate workshop (20 people). The limited capacity of the jworkshop allows you to sit closely and create, spending time together as Tamani and Yaka guide you while sharing about the importance of the women in the tribe and the work they do. The jewellery making is only valid with the correct ticket!


- Hapé circle and music
The evening will continue with songs, prayers and shared presence with the family, bringing the force and spirit of the forestto Brighton. Sing, dance, pray and consecrate together. Only Joy. Só alegria!

Art.
Yaka is a co-founder of the MAHKU (Movimento dos Artistas Huni Kuin) collective and part of Kayatibu, sharing both music and artwork from the tradition. A selection of MAHKU artwork will be on display during the evening.



This is open to everyone.

No experience is needed, just come with respect and an open heart.

This gathering is part of a wider series, including a weekend retreat with the Kayatibu collective, sharing deeper work with the traditions, music and medicines of the forest. If you'd like more info, please get in touch.
