Learn more about food deserts in Milwauke from our panel. Participants are invited to share their stories and ideas for tackling this problem.

This discussion will reveal the deeper truth behind food deserts — how they tie into the broader challenges facing our food system and Wisconsin's disappearing farms, and what can be done to address food access, food prices, and other problems. Participants are invited to share their stories and ideas for tackling this challenge as we work to find solutions in unexpected places.

Who should attend? Residents, volunteers, non-profits, elected leaders and local government officials. Anyone who wants to build common ground toward solutions for our food system. The Journal Sentinel will be compiling and publishing a list of resources, advocates and ideas for addressing the crisis from the community.

How will this work? Expect a short discussion with panelists followed by a facilitated conversation with the audience about the roots and scope of the problem, and most importantly, the immediate and long-term solutions. This is about your voice, and our food future.
