Colorado’s blues duo Hundred Pound Housecat packs all kinds of punch. Their sound is a foot-stomping mix of original Blues and soulful Americana and just the right amount of Rock N’Roll that feels simultaneously from the distant past yet perfect for this time.

Melly Frances’ vocals are incomparable. She croons eerily like a beautiful Bessie Smith '78 one minute and lets out a ragged howl to make Leon Russel blush in the next. She does all this while holding down the rhythm with a mix of bass, washboard, kazoo, tamborine and stomp box. Keenan Leigh punctuates their music with a potent mix of slide and piedmont blues guitar reminiscent of Tampa Red, Memphis Minnie and Johnny Shines.
