Humrahi - An evening of Ghazals

India is blessed with a huge variety of creative expressions, not just in music and dance but also in verse. One of the most romantic and beautiful styles is Ghazal. As a form mostly written in Urdu and Hindi, Ghazals have a unique charm and lyrical beauty of their own. In just two lines, the poet weaves an enchanting world of emotions and sensitive stories of love, separation, and union. While Ghazals were a very popular genre in the seventies and even early eighties, in the last two decades, it has been rare to see an evening of Ghazals. In our endeavor to promote and nurture various aspects of Indian culture, especially through music, we have conceived our Ghazal festival, 'Humrahi,' which will feature the best exponents of this form as young and upcoming talent.
