Join us for an evening of music and community-building at Zzz Records! This event is a great opportunity to come together and celebrate Human Rights Day with music and insights from local artist, De'An Keys. Keys will share about the work he has done with Des Moines Public Schools, and talk about some of the challenges that he has faced as a musician. Attendees will also have a chance to share their own personal poem and win prizes. Light refreshments will be provided. Don't miss out on this meaningful and inspiring event!

About De'An Keys:
De'An Keys, also known as DK, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and teaching artist from Des Moines, Iowa. He has been writing and performing since childhood. For the past nine years, he has been actively engaged in the Des Moines community, performing, hosting open mics, teaching youth poetry and creative writing, and mentoring aspiring artists. His work reflects raw emotion and storytelling, emphasizing our connection to both the environment and the community. As of 2025, he and his band will be recognized as an official touring act. De'An has graced the stage at various festivals, concerts, and community events, including Music in the Junction, I'll Make Me A World, and Juneteenth Neighbors Day, among others. De'An Keys offers more than just entertainment; he has also served as a teaching artist and mentor within the Des Moines Public Schools, the Juvenile Detention Center, and Starfish Academy over the years. Through his music, he delivers medicine to the people.
