Life Drawing Workshop with artist Nicky Hartley
The life drawing workshops I offer have developed into a more wholistic experience of learning to draw and paint, by enhancing our ability to ‘see’ really what we see rather than what we ‘think’ we
see. We go on a little exploration journey with mark making, drawing blind, using all our senses. We get a sense of our own body as well as the figure in front of us. This can be light and fun as well as deep and stilling the busy mind.
Materials needed for the class:
You shall use a mixture of mediums, some of which Nicky will provide but please bring along any drawing tools, pastels, paints, paper, hard board, canvas you would like to use and if you have surplus to share!
You are welcome to check out Nicky's website:

Nicky Hartley loves to paint the human form and its relationship to its internal and external environment: The play of colour and the flow of line and the expression of marks. Nicky graduated as an illustrator 27 years ago, and since then she has worked freelance in the UK, Romania, Zimbabwe, Thailand, India, Australia and now NZ where she has lived for 18 years. She has supported and held workshops for children, and adults in these countries while initiating art groups and a couple of community art galleries.
The ART Collective Project is offered and facilitated through the Shiloh Creative Life Centre Charitable Trust. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsor Creative Communities for supporting the Art Collective Project.
