This course is useful for learners who are interested in studying a pre–Access or an Access course or who are already studying on one of these courses with biology content. This Human Biology course would offer extra support and relevant knowledge for Access learners.
- Cell Biology: the basic structure of cells as the unit of life, the structural differences between simple cells (prokaryotic cells) and more complex cells (eukaryotic cells) the structure of human and plant cells, the role of the structures in the cell, cell specialization – adaptation to function.
- Human Nutrition: nutrients – macro & micronutrients, roles and daily requirements. Balanced diet, importance of iron, calcium, Vitamin C & D and deficiency diseases. Human digestive system, digestion and absorption of the products of digestion.
