Our organization and program is designed to empower and uplift women but we are not limited to just employing women. Our doors are open to the trans community and anyone who has been underprivileged and neglected. We want to teach people that they are valuable and capable. We want people to know that they are enough and together we can break barriers. We at Huma House have two wings, one art and the other gardening. We provide jobs in urban gardening which creates leaders and teaches self sustaining skills. Their foundation rests upon educating and healing through the earth. The Art Exhibitions highlight artists who are system impacted and provide a platform for individuals to paint, sculpt, draw, and display the narrative counter to the harmful one that has been told and concretized about incarceration.

We create healing experiences that help people develop their creativity and build confidence while also tapping into their individual and collective identity. One of the main goals of Huma House is to help people rewrite the stories that have been told to them about who they are. Incarceration and re-entry is not just about the physical space created to confine the body, people have imprisoned themselves out here through circumstance and detachment. We merge these two worlds to bring healing collectively to all and through this healing we repair the divide and model the true definition of community.

HUMA CARES PROGRAM IS an ATTENDANCE BASED STIPENED PROGRAM WHERE PARTICIPANTS ARE PAID FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION AT THE END OF THE COHORT (12 weeks)
